Professional Development Training
Child Care Resource Center has provided professional development for over 25 years. Our goal is to improve the quality of child care by offering high quality professional development opportunities for child care educators. Child Care Resource Center provides access to trainings throughout our region which includes Alleghany, Ashe, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Stokes, Surry, Wilkes and Yadkin Counties.

Class Full/ How to Promote Children’s Social and Emotional Competence

Participants will learn strategies to develop positive relationships with students and their families. (how to show you care, how to show students that you trust them; the importance of play and its role in social skill development). Participants will also learn practical techniques to promote positive behavior including strategies to manage misbehavior; (rationale behind ignoring minor negative behaviors; effective ways to redirect misbehavior; providing natural and logical consequences).
