Self-esteem is an important component to almost everything children do. Research indicates that children who develop a positive sense of self are more likely to try new things and work toward reaching goals. Self-esteem is needed life long and we need to remember the important role we play as teachers to enhance or damage a child’s self-esteem. This workshop will address strategies to use in the classroom to enhance self-esteem. We will look at factors that affect children’s emotional and social development.
