Professional Development Training
Child Care Resource Center has provided professional development for over 25 years. Our goal is to improve the quality of child care by offering high quality professional development opportunities for child care educators. Child Care Resource Center provides access to trainings throughout our region which includes Alleghany, Ashe, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Stokes, Surry, Wilkes and Yadkin Counties.

Yadkin – Eat Right, Grow Strong: Nutrition in Child Care

Participants will learn why good nutrition is so important to young children and how promoting a healthy learning environment can lead to healthier eating habits. Resources will also be shared as to things child care providers can do to help children develop healthy eating behaviors and learn some creative ways to encourage children to try new foods. Participants will also have the opportunity to dive into and review the new CACFP meal pattern guidelines.

All trainings will run from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted. A $5.00 registration fee is required for all trainings, with the exception of CPR/First Aid, which will be $30. Cash or checks are accepted methods of payment. Checks are to be made payable to Smart Start of Yadkin County. In addition to the $5.00 registration fee, participants are to complete a Training Registration Form. Forms are available at our office or our website: www.yadkinchild.org, under the “Calendar” tab.
