Resilience means the ability to recover from difficult life experiences. Resilient parents and caregivers have empathy for themselves and others and can keep a positive attitude, solve problems creatively and take life’s events in stride. This training will help participants define and recognize signs of parental resilience, identify actions that can help build the resilience of parents they work with, share examples of ways to value and support parents, and to respond to families in crises. This training is one in a seven-part series from the course entitled Bringing the Protective Factors Framework to Life in Your Work. The training will be led by Brenda Vasquez, a Parent Educator with the Children’s Center of Northwest NC. Registration for this training is due no later than Thursday, August 20th in order for training packets to be delivered to participants!
Trainings marked with stars (**) meet the criteria of a Health and Safety Training Topic. Child Care Rules require health and safety trainings to be completed once every 5 years. Smart Start of Yadkin County offered the initial Health and Safety Trainings back in 2017. We are starting a new rotation so that all 11 trainings will be offered again within the 5-year time frame. Please review your Health and Safety Training Record or call our office (336-679-7833) for more information.
Based on training requirements set forth by DCDEE, CPR/First Aid are not permitted to be offered virtually.
An email address will be required to gain access to all virtual trainings. There will be no charge for virtual trainings.
All in person trainings will be limited to 5 participants to allow for social distancing. If a waiting list is created, a duplicate training date will be set.
