DESCRIPTION:Format: In-Person\nPresenter: Natalie Williams\nCHCs: 2\nCost: $5 (non-refundable)\nDescription: Participants will receive an overview of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) giving them the knowledge to identify SIDS risk factors and describe ways to reduce the risk of SIDS in child care. The national standards for sleep safety will be presented and resources will be shared for both child care providers and parents. Topics include NC SIDS Laws\, child care licensing rules for safe sleep\, as well as how to develop a safe sleep policy. Key messages of this training include engaging in safe sleep practices and creating a safe sleep environment for infants and toddlers. \nThis training meets the criteria of a Health and Safety Training Topic. Child Care Rules require health and safety trainings to be completed once every 5 years. Smart Start of Yadkin County offered the initial Health and Safety Trainings back in 2017. We are starting a new rotation so that all 11 trainings will be offered again within the 5-year time frame. Together you will identify SIDS risk factors and describe ways to reduce the risk of SIDS in child care. The national standards for sleep safety will be presented and resources will be shared for both child care providers and parents. Topics include NC SIDS Laws\, child care licensing rules for safe sleep\, as well as how to develop a safe sleep policy. Key messages of this training include: engaging in safe sleep practices and creating a safe sleep environment for infants and toddlers. \nPresenter(s): Natalie Williams \nCost: $5 \nCredit Hours: 2 \n*All trainings will run from approximately 6:30-8:30pm unless otherwise noted. SUMMARY:Smart Start of Yadkin County - ITS SIDS
DESCRIPTION:Our Child Care Health Consultant will give participants an overview of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Together you will identify SIDS risk factors and describe ways to reduce the risk of SIDS in child care. The national standards for sleep safety will presented and resources will be shared for both child care providers and parents. Topics include NC SIDS Laws\, child care licensing rules for safe sleep\, as well as practices and creating a safe sleep environment for infants and toddlers. \nPresenter: Natalie Williams \nCredit Hours: 2 \n*All trainings will run from 6:30pm – 8:30pm unless otherwise noted. A $5.00 registration fee is required for all trainings\, with the exception of CPR/First Aid\, which will be $30. Cash or checks are accepted methods of payment. Checks are to be made payable to Smart Start of Yadkin County. In addition the $5.00 registration fee\, participants are to complete a Training Registration Form.
