DESCRIPTION:State mandated safe sleep training for child care providers working with infants. Required every 3 years. \nPresenter: Joan Coiro \nNCPK/CCR&R Coordinator \nCall 336-786-1880 \nCost N/A \nAll trainings will be closed 10 minutes after the starting time. Anyone who enters the training after that time may sit in and participate but will not receive DCD credit. . * Lamination and Die Cut weeks are as follows: Oct.1st-Oct. 5th\, Nov. 5th-Nov.9th\, Dec. 3rd-Dec.7th. Trainings and Child Development trainings will be offered throughout the year. Please find fun activities for your child to attend while you are in training. DESCRIPTION:This required training explains all the parts of North Carolina’s SIDS Law.  Participants will review information about when and how to use the approved waivers\, how to best place a baby in bed to sleep\, and other “Best Practice” recommendations.  During the workshop\, participants will get the needed information to create a Safe Sleep Policy\, updated research about SIDS\, and local health and safety resources.  Participants also will be walked through how to do an unresponsive infant drill and the reason for doing them regularly.  (DCDEE 1) \nPresenter Sandy Weaver  Infant Toddler Specialist \nFee: $10.00 \n2 DCDEE credit hrs. \nDeadline to register is 9/24/18 @noon \nNo refunds \nNew Location: \nChild Care Resource Center is located at 500 W. You can park anywhere on the right side after 5pm. \nStreet Parking:  From 9 am to 6 pm you can park on the street for a fee of 50 cents for 2 hours of parking at a parking meter. SUMMARY:Smart Start of Yadkin County - ITS SIDS
DESCRIPTION:Our Child Care Health Consultant will give participants an overview of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Together you will identify SIDS risk factors and describe ways to reduce the risk of SIDS in child care. The national standards for sleep safety will presented and resources will be shared for both child care providers and parents. Topics include NC SIDS Laws\, child care licensing rules for safe sleep\, as well as practices and creating a safe sleep environment for infants and toddlers. \nPresenter: Natalie Williams \nCredit Hours: 2 \n*All trainings will run from 6:30pm – 8:30pm unless otherwise noted. A $5.00 registration fee is required for all trainings\, with the exception of CPR/First Aid\, which will be $30. Cash or checks are accepted methods of payment. Checks are to be made payable to Smart Start of Yadkin County. In addition the $5.00 registration fee\, participants are to complete a Training Registration Form.
