Child Care Resource Center has provided professional development for over 25 years. Our goal is to improve the quality of child care by offering high quality professional development opportunities for child care educators. Child Care Resource Center provides access to trainings throughout our region which includes Alleghany, Ashe, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Stokes, Surry, Wilkes and Yadkin Counties.

Smart Start of Yadkin County – ITS SIDS

Our Child Care Health Consultant will give participants an overview of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Together you will identify SIDS risk factors and describe ways to reduce the risk of SIDS in child care. The national standards for sleep safety will be presented and resources will be shared for both child care providers and parents. Topics include NC SIDS Laws, child care licensing rules for safe sleep, as well as how to develop a safe sleep policy. Key messages of this training include: engaging in safe sleep practices and creating a safe sleep environment for infants and toddlers.

*All trainings will run from approximately 6:30-8:30pm unless otherwise noted. A non-refundable $5 registration fee is required for all trainings, except for CPR/First Aid, which will be $30. In addition to the $5 registration fee, participants are to complete a Training Registration Form. Forms are available at our office or on our website www.yadkinchild.org, under the “Calendar” tab.
