Practicing positiveness to manage classroom behavior is an effective tool versus reacting to negative situations. Children respond well to positive reinforcement. Yelling or use of negative language is not an effective way to correct negative behavior. Teachers will learn positive reinforcement techniques that will help children exhibit appropriate behaviors such as, using positive phrases, offering choices, presenting problem-solving opportunities, redirecting, and creating an environment conducive to the behaviors desired.
