Professional Development Training
Child Care Resource Center has provided professional development for over 25 years. Our goal is to improve the quality of child care by offering high quality professional development opportunities for child care educators. Child Care Resource Center provides access to trainings throughout our region which includes Alleghany, Ashe, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Stokes, Surry, Wilkes and Yadkin Counties.
Participants are invited to come and make fun, summer crafts with other early childhood professionals. Be prepared to share your favorite summer ideas. All materials will be provided. Participants will become certified in Red Cross approved, basic adult, child, and infant CPR and First Aid. The primary purpose of this training is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies. This course is designed to teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and decide whether advanced medical care is needed. Our Child Care Health Consultant will give participants an overview of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Together you will identify SIDS risk factors and describe ways to reduce the risk of SIDS in child care. The national standards for sleep safety will be presented and resources will be shared for both child care providers and parents. In this training participants will learn the three playground safety components within the NC Child Care Commission’s permanent playground rules: 1. Providing a safe environment for children, 2. How to complete the required monthly inspection reports, 3. How to report accidents and injuries that occur on the playground. This training has been recently updated and participants are now required to take and pass a 10-question quiz upon completion of the training.
