CCRC – Normalize Talking About Feelings at a Young Age

January 23, 2024 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Children are learning to navigate the world and you are their pilot. It is fundamental to teach children at a young age that it is normal to recognize and express their feelings. This includes having children appropriately describe their feelings and make relevant connections. Where to start? In this session you will learn how to include feelings discussions in day-to-day routines in the classroom. You will also learn to use age-appropriate visuals and activities to make it fun to learn about feelings. We will discuss the importance of modeling appropriate reactions to the feelings and how this information can be incorporated for you to make individualized vignettes for your classroom. Teaching children at a young age about feelings is the perfect way to pave their way to strong communications skills.
