SACERS U: Getting U Ready

A learning module that provides an in-depth look at school age environments, the importance of interaction, materials, and indicators in the SACERS-Updated assessment. Stop asking, “am I ready?” and instead feel prepared and equipped with knowledge, tools, and strategies to produce a successful SACERS-U score and create an environment that is both appealing and appropriate for the children and the staff. Scared of the dreaded

interview? Fear no more!!! Practice here. Participants will engage in strategies and activities that relate their environment to the NC State Education Standards as well as meet the SACERS-U requirements.

Through discussion, group activities and Q&A, participants will be able to use the SACERS-U tool to improve their school age program environment by locating resources, additional notes for clarification, analyzing and scoring activities, identifying low scoring items and explaining the interview process.

Technology needs required:

• Electronic device with internet connection
• Electronic device with audio/ability to watch & listen to a video online
• Keyboard/mouse (laptop with mouse pad)
• Telephone or electronic device with speakers
• Attendees can join GoToMeeting from a Mac, PC, iPad, iPhone or Android device. http://www.gotomeeting.com
• PDF Reader
• Ability to receive electronic documents (email)

Participants in the online event will be required to complete 2 hours of pre/post work assignments and participate in 3 hours of online coursework. Instructors have no proprietary interest in development, design, or marketing of any learning events. Participants must pass a post knowledge assessment with a score of 90% or higher.
