In this training, participants will learn about the importance of building relationships with the children and families they serve daily and get to make a “greeter apron” to use in their classrooms! This apron provides children with choices as to how they want to be greeted each morning and gives teachers an opportunity to help build a positive relationship with each child by starting the day in a nurturing way. At the end of this training, teachers will have made a visual tool of their very own to use, as well as learned the benefits of building compassionate relationships with children to help reduce challenging behaviors. Many other ideas for building relationships with children and families will be explored during this unique professional development opportunity.
